Small cylindrical magnets like these N42UH Grade axially magnetised cylinders are developed for specialised applications where high operating temperatures are encountered. The 5mm diameter cylinder is rated to perform at temperatures up to 180°C and delivers 6156 surface gauss. This Nickel plated magnetic product is axially magnetised and delivers a pull force of 952.5 grams.

Uses for our rare earth cylinder magnets:

Variations in the temperature of the atmosphere in which Neodymium magnets operate has a significant impact on their performance and durability. Optimal performance for standard Neodymium material occurs at temperatures below zero °C and gradually deteriorates as temperatures rise above 80°C. Temperatures above 80°C can negatively impact the internal alignment of the crystalline structures within Neodymium material which, in turn, is reflected in reductions in magnetic output or strength. Prolonged exposure to even higher temperatures can cause permanent demagnetisation to the magnet depending on the length of exposure. High-temperature resistant grades are determined during manufacture and achieved by the inclusion of temperature resistant Rare Earth additives in varying quantities. Resistance to temperatures up to 200°C can be achieved with EH suffixed grade Rare Earth materials.

This Neodymium cylinder can withstand temperatures of up to 180°C and is suited to applications including electric motors, industrial processing equipment and high-performance machinery.
